Hello,

The U.S. House of Representatives Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee is conducting a legislative hearing titled "NIL Playbook: Proposal to Protect Student Athletes' Dealmaking Rights" on Thursday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time to discuss name, image and likeness, and its impact on the current college athletics ecosystem. As a legislative hearing, it is anticipated that Chairman Bilirakis' legislation, the FAIR College Sports Act, will be a focal point of discussion.

In advance of next week's hearing, we strongly encourage you to speak with and/or write a letter to those Members of CongressThe hearing is an opportunity to educate committee Members about why college sports matter and to urge them to sign on to bipartisan legislation that addresses the threats facing college sports. Specifically, this is an opportunity to reinforce the Association's need for a national framework for NIL, special status for college athletes, and safe harbor from certain liability risks. Going on the record, in the form of a written letter, ahead of a hearing is a critical way of making sure your voice is a part of the discussion.

If you have any questions, or would like any additional information, do not hesitate to reach out to the NCAA office of government relations at governmentrelations@ncaa.org. Thank you for your time.
