Fieldhouse Crew Lead

The Butler University Athletics Department seeks a hardworking and reliable individual to assist the Fieldhouse Crew Supervisor to manage the daily operations and event operations for the athletic facilities of Butler University. Regular hours for this full-time position are Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with required schedule flexibility to work evening and weekend events as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily custodial & janitorial work to clean and maintain all athletic facilities.
  • Provide maintenance of janitorial and athletic equipment as needed.
  • Assist with set-up of furniture and equipment for classes, meetings, practices and events.
  • Assist with field lining and turf field maintenance.
  • Support code specification compliance in all athletic facilities.
  • Assist the Fieldhouse Crew Supervisor in managing daily workload, while helping to lead the crew and contracted service vendor relationships.
  • Support Fieldhouse Crew Supervisor with daily budget oversight, EMS facility scheduling management, equipment purchasing and field maintenance for all athletic facilities.
  • Serve as a reliable and supportive partner with Butler University Campus Facilities staff to collaboratively work together to address facility repairs and improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with NCAA, Big East and Butler policies and procedures and rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform assigned tasks can lift/move up to approx. 70 lbs.
  • Quality manual labor skills with reliable work habits and a responsive, positive attitude.
  • Custodial work experience - knowledge of custodial practices, cleaning solutions and equipment (floor machines, etc.).
  • Works well with others and independently, with a high attention to detail in all work.
  • Desired candidate will have outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills and be able to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.
