Athletics Equipment Manager
Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Athletics is searching for an Intercollegiate Athletics Equipment Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by maintaining all athletic facilities and equipment.Core responsibilities will include:
Distribution, inventory, maintenance and laundering of athletic equipment for assigned varsity sports. Primary sports to include varsity football Maintenance and upkeep of athletic facilities Assist in coordination of event management for varsity contests Strategic work with Senior Financial Administrator related to purchasing and inventory Weekend or evening hours will be required, some overtime may be available Driving equipment to away contests may be required Other duties as assigned Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within the Department of Athletics. Qualifications:
High School or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred Experience with inventory control and supplies 1+ years of experience handling athletic equipment and facilities Experience with Football Equipment Management preferred A.E.M.A. certification preferred
You should demonstrate:
Ability to effectively communicate with others, keep accurate records, and understand and follow directions Ability to operate washers and dryers and handle mechanical equipment as necessary
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, climb steps or ladders, to stoop, reach, bend at waist, grasp and move and/or lift up to 50 pounds Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult people or situations, to pay close attention to detail and keep accurate records Ability to meet deadlines and handle peak work hours
