The individual in this position develops, schedules, and oversees all intercollegiate home contests. This individual is the game day Director of Operations. Other responsibilities include: Researches, negotiates, analyzes and awards contractual agreements on equipment, uniforms and supplies for 12 athletic programs; Schedules contracted officials for all home athletic events; Schedules and hires Building Manager for non-CSM activities on the athletic fields and PE Building; Ensures maintenance of equipment and facilities; Implements strategies related to operation and services of athletic programs and events; Supervises, trains, and evaluates part time staff; Serve as liaison between Athletic Office and other college departments, vendors, governing bodies, and other external organizations; Manage annual team operating budgets with regard to uniforms, equipment and supplies; Responsible for the research, purchase or contracting of companies who maintain or repair all athletic equipment and supplies. 

The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Flexibility is required.

  • Serves as an Athletic Trainer by providing injury prevention, injury evaluation, first aid and emergency care during training sessions/athletic competitions for all CSM athletes. 
  • Holds national certification and state licensure for athletic training. 
  • Ensures Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Act (HIPPA) is followed while maintaining medical documentation for athletes.
  • Serves as Sports Information Director for the Athletics Office (websites, calendar, social media, etc.) and works collaboratively with Public Relations Coordinator.
  • Works with the Assistant Athletic Director to determine and ensure the environment is safe for athletes, staff and spectators.
  • Follows approved position statements set forth by the national governing body (BOC) and enforces Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines.
  • Develops the short-term and long-term capital facilities plan which includes the PE Center, all athletic fields, tennis courts and major equipment purchases. 
  • Manages schedule for the PE Center and all athletic fields collaboratively with CSM Operations and acts as the Building Use Coordinator.
  • Creates and maintains a system for locker rentals, maintains the budget, makes all policy decisions, and handles customer complaints and concerns.
  • Serves as the Region XX and/or MDJUCO tournament director for all CSM hosted competitions. 
  • Schedules and maintains a master schedule for CSM owned vans and bus use for all college travel. 
  • Works collaboratively with facilities to determine necessary service and repairs to vehicles. 
  • Administers written testing for all CSM faculty/staff to take for van training. 

Additional Duties:

  • Performs other related work as required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred 
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • State Athletic Training Licensure 
  • CPR/AED Certification
