  • Administration is the process of guiding, leading, and coordinating the efforts of a group of individual people or segments within an organization toward the attainment of organizational goals


PRINCIPLES OF ADMINISTRATION

  • Principles are guidelines, if followed to enhance the probability of success. 
    1. Administrative activities are consistent with organizational philosophy and directed toward attainment of organizational goals
      1. Organizational Philosophy is key
    2. Administrative activities are rooted in sound organizational policy
    3. Administrative activities reflect a sincere concern for the welfare and dignity of every person in the organization
    4. Administrative Activities encourage the creative input and cooperative effort of organizational colleagues whenever possible.
    5. Administrative assignments are clearly defined and carefully explained
    6. Administrative assignments incorporate appropriate responsibility, authority, and accountability

  1. Establish & recognize organizational goals and objectives
  2. Identify the specific tasks and functions necessary for meeting the stated goals and objectives
  3. Group organizational objectives to the similarity of their related taks and functions
  4. Place the grouped objectives into appropriate administrative unit/department
  5. Utilizing the administrative units established in the previous step, prepare a model plan
  6. Implement the organizational plan
  7. Periodically evaluate
